Soundtrack!

Halo’s theme soundtrack is truly beautiful and would be perfect for the background soundtrack to my project. Unfortunately I cannot take the soundtrack as it would be copyright infringement, so with this in mind, I will be recreating and sampling it so that I can use it in my project.

Here is my inspiration:

I will be using Fruity Loops to create the soundtrack.

Here are some Screenshots of the sound creation process:

I recorded the piano sound using this instrument:

Me and my collaboration partner have created the first draft. I have asked two people to give their opinion on it so that we can make improvements!

Person One:

I like the harmony in the background

Like the aahhh oiiiihh

Like a space movie

Its sick

Oh sh*t it’s getting intense
And now it’s calming down again
And finished
it’ll be on loop in my project
Its sound really good to me
Hmm
Maybe
A little longer to loop it
Or sort of transition back in
oh longer pause at end?
Well its hard to tell
If u do 1 loop
And see how it sounds like when it finishes
And start again
So you want that bit to sound nice
hmmm, so a easier transition back in?
or should i give it a 5 second delay
Ye but its not a loop yet so j can’t tell how it will sound
Do a loop first
 —————————————————————————————————-
Person Two:

keep it as it is
sounds good anyway

My collab partner has had to take a business trip to Leicester so I’ve had to Skype him. Here is part of the convo:
31st March 2015
[18:22:52] Kavi Amalakumar: i#m just tweaking it send in 5 mins
[18:23:13] Kavi Amalakumar: i can master it properly and make it sound proper high def if you like it, but can’t today.
gonna send it in a sec
[18:34:19] Kavi Amalakumar: it has a drop near the end
[18:34:25] Kavi Amalakumar: not sure if you want it or not, or want to keep it simple
[18:51:58] CamyKumar: sounds good the begining bit, low sound of the spaceship
[18:52:04] Kavi Amalakumar: ya
[18:52:09] Kavi Amalakumar: made it sound like it;s in space
[18:52:20] Kavi Amalakumar: you want me to lower that volume?
[18:52:27] CamyKumar: near the end of it
[18:52:53] CamyKumar: or let me ask friend on their opinion
[18:52:59] Kavi Amalakumar: ok
[19:14:24] CamyKumar: my friend really likes it!
[19:14:30 |CamyKumar: they said the end needs to transition better
[19:14:33] CamyKumar: as it’ll beoon loop
[19:15:06] CamyKumar: we can either have a 10 second delay, or keep it how it is but transitioned better
[19:25:12] Kavi Amalakumar: changed ending of song, same
[19:25:18] Kavi Amalakumar: but has a flute thing
[19:25:22] Kavi Amalakumar: then repeats whole song quickly
[19:25:27] Kavi Amalakumar: so less gap
[19:42:34] CamyKumar: i think at the end
[19:42:38] CamyKumar: fade it
[19:42:48] CamyKumar: because it’s jolty when it loops
[19:43:30] CamyKumar: but middle sounds good!

Inserting image/video into v4 problem

I was able to import images into v4, however I had the problem of attaching a ‘scene’ to each year.

Originally I was going to attach one frame to each button(year), but this is not what I want. I want a scene to each button(year) which consists of 240 frames or so.

So I will be looking into how to insert a video footage to each button(year).

—————————————————————————————————

I have found a page on the 4v forum that tells me briefly how to insert video footage into v4.
